Memorial day weekend. Sasquatch. Camping trips. You name it, people are out enjoying their free day off. This was my third Memorial day spent heading home from Vancouver, my second spent on Izakaya but the first Swiftsure I haven't sworn I wouldn't come back again next year. We had an awesome crew and a ton of fun. We may not have done very well--that's bound to happen 99 times out of a 100 when you take a flyer-- but everyone had a great time.
Sunday after the race, Sally, Peter, Iain and I headed over to the SYC out station in Roche Harbor to clear customs, eat a proper dinner and get a sound night's sleep. Refreshed in the morning, we had sunshine and a fantastic spinnaker run all the way back to Seattle.
