design is a strategy

The title of the collaboration with the Sønderborg students is: "Design is a Game". We are learning that it can be more accurately described as a strategic method manipulation rather than playing.

I tried first to approach the assignment with a playful attitude believing that if we couldmaintainn a lighthearted approach to the project, it would translate also into the game. We have managed to entirely change the feel and function of our play strategy some three or four times since we began Tuesday. In the end, there is a sense of frustration but relief that is seeping in through the information relayed to the players. Luckily, the game has managed to outwit this tension and is still somehow fun...

We will see when people play the games tomorrow.
