Sam and Vanessa set a date, a visit from aunt Julie and a VIP show at the planetarium

My aunt Julie was in town from Hawai'i earlier this month. Brief and busy as the trip was, we managed to get out for dinner one evening on Capitol Hill with Vanessa and learned that she and my cousin have set a date for their wedding in the states, and will in fact get married in Alliance, Nebraska. Since trips to Nebraska always involve car trip shenanagins with my family, ridiculous road side stops, and (of course) corn nuts and beef jerky, I am especially looking forward to this decision... Not that Brazil would be a shabby locale for the wedding...

Phil has been promising a group of friends a private show at the UW planetarium since last spring when he was responsible for the University of Washington's planetarium but was too busy with school work and public shows to fit us in. With only weeks left before the fall semester was about to begin, Janna stepped up and organized the masses for an evening of bad star jokes, interstellar facts and friends, and ending with a moving out party at our friend Mike's apartment-- from which I left early from because it was a sailing night and I had to get up early the next morning. :P
