Tenacious, Trans Puget Benefit Race, Lake Union and the Ballard Locks

For what looks to have been the final weekend of summer (officially, the first of autumn but I won't tell if you don't) the crew of Slingshot hopped onboard Tenacious, a Pearson Flyer 30 for the Trans Puget Benefit Race out of Shilshole on Saturday. With super light winds, the starts were delayed and we hooked Martin and Grady up to the harness and dunked them into the Sound a few times before finally getting under way in what turned out to be less of a Trans and more of a Sound Benefit race. (Again with the details.)

It was long and very nice day that began when we met in the morning on the docks where Tenacious is moored in Lake Union at 7:45. (Friday night was another sailing night meaning getting up earlier on the weekend than I normally would for work.) This was my first time both on the lake and also through the locks, so the early morning hours were well worth it.
